My friends and I have just booked our summer holiday and I felt the need to fully inform them that they may know me in the UK with cute summer hairstyles, having blow-dried hair, styling products and plenty of serum. However, my girls do not know the version of me that touches down in any country hotter than 20 degrees.
My hair gets BIG, and when I say big, I mean wowza it has a life of its own.
Remember that episode of Friends when Monica goes to Barbados? That’s me.
So, I must plan ahead, I have to get creative just to make It through a week in the sun.
Here are my top cute summer hairstyles to keep you looking more supermodel than Monica Geller.
Day one: The messy bun
We’ve all done a messy bun before, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t still fabulous. Pull a few wispy bits either side to frame your face and add a cute colourful scrunchie and you’re good to go.
Day two: A hat and pigtails
This is my day two holiday classic hair style, pull your hair into two pigtails and add a big floppy hat. This will help keep the top of your head free from frizz but still look cute.
Day three: Scalp plaits
With the option to do 1, 2 or 3 scalp plaits this look works with most hair even those with shorter styles as the plaits start at the top of your head and work their way down. Keep this look in all day and your hair will have a fabulous beach wave for the evening.
Day four: Space Buns
At this point my curly hair has well and truly took hold. Separate your hair into two sections twist round into two buns and secure with some Kirby grips.
Day five: Add a salt spray
Your hair will be feeling super dehydrated at this point. Add a salt spray into your natural waves and scrunch your hair, either wear loose and embrace the larger hair or pull back into a low pony.
Day six: Wet look
At this stage in your holiday you will hopefully be rocking a sun kissed glow, add in a healthy amount of coconut oil and slick your hair back off your face. The straight out the sea wet look has never looked so good.
Day Seven: Add a headscarf
This is my favourite go too at any point in the holiday, secure your hair into a low pony and add a bright colourful headscarf or headband to finish the look.
Most of all enjoy your holiday xx
