We probably all wish we had the means and the talent to design our own clothes and then be able to go ahead actually make them, but let’s face it, it’s rare anybody has time for that. Well, not anymore. When Sumissura got in touch asking us to choose an item of clothing on their website, I was intrigued by their unique business model and also excited by the idea of owning a piece of clothing that had been tailored exactly to my fit.
Made-to-measure
The Sumissura website has a whole range of different made- to-measure clothing which makes ordering your perfect size online super easy. Don’t know about you, but whenever i’m shopping online, 9 times out of 10 I order the wrong size and rather than going to the effort of returning it – it just sits unworn in my wardrobe as a reminder of how i love to waste my money.
With Sumissura, you can actually input your measurements. Better still, you can also ‘design your clothes’ meaning you can choose everything from colour to fabric to fit. You know when you have an exact style in mind and can’t for the LIFE of you find exactly what you want? Yes, me too.
Designing my Sumissura Skirt
Knowing we were coming up to summer, I decided to go with something that i knew i’d get loads of wear out of, whether that was with trainers and a t-shirt or dressed up for drinks, when we’re eventually allowed to return to normal. I spotted this gorgeous pink fabric and knew it would make a super cute, full skater style skirt that i could make as extra or as minimal as id like.
The skirt itself is a gorgeous quality and the lining makes it super thick and full. It fastens at the waist with a zip and two buttons and its high waisted fit it super flattering. At the moment, getting dressed up isn’t really on the cards because we don’t really have anywhere to go apart from our own living rooms so here, I’ve teamed with trainers and a t-shirt to show how it works so well as an everyday item.
Id be lying if i said i got the hang of the Sumissura website straight away – I found it a little complicated to navigate – but then i suppose the site being so meticulous means you’re left with the perfect-fitting outfit. It’s important to have your measurements to hand whilst ordering but Sumissura has hints and tips to help you ensure you have the perfect size.
Their website really does go into a huge amount of detail when it comes to designing your clothes with even choosing the pattern on your shirt collar available to customise.
