Strong hair in 5 steps!
The new PlexSystem Smoothing Infusion range from HeadShock launched last month promising a scientific smoothing infusion for damaged hair. Restoring hair to its smoothest, healthiest best requires powerful moisturizing actives, micro-nutrients, and oils.
Designed to smooth the hair shaft and restore natural bounce and shine, I couldn’t wait to try this collection on my ‘not so perfect’ hair!
How to repair damaged hair?
Repairing damaged hair requires a combination of good hair care practices and using products specifically designed to restore health to your hair.
PlexSystem Smoothing Infusion combines the high-performing actives needed to tackle split ends, dullness, tangles, and roughness. With key ingredients such as Pro-Vitamin B5, Avena Sativa, and botanical oils such as Jojoba and Argan Oil you can be sure you are nourishing the hair from the root. The range also includes a nourishing hair mask to help rebuild and restore dry, damaged hair caused by frequent styling.
My thoughts on the 5-step PlexSystem
This smoothing range could not have arrived on my doorstep at a better time. After months of bleaching my naturally frizzy hair, I finally decided I needed to invest in looking after my hair better and step away from the bleach.
At first glance, the range reminded me of a much more expensive haircare range that I have purchased in the past, so when I realized this entire range costs less than just one of their products I couldn’t wait to see if it would make a difference to my hair.
The range is numbered to help you determine which step comes first and includes a cleansing shampoo, nourishing hair mask, hydrating conditioner, restoring hair oil, and styling hair serum. So not only do you have the products to keep your hair clean and nourished but you also have some styling products too!
Step 1 – The cleansing shampoo gently removes dirt and build-up from the hair and scalp and the Avena Sativa and Glycerin help to hydrate and smooth the hair follicles.
Step 2 – requires leaving the nourishing hair mask on clean hair for at least 20 minutes, this is my favourite thing to do as part of my self-care routine. The mask helps to rebuild and restore dry, damaged hair caused by frequent styling.
Step 3 – is the nourishing conditioner which helps to infuse the hydration back into dry, lackluster hair. Containing Pro-Vitamin B5 it helps to strengthen the damaged hair, enhancing the smoothness and shine without adding weight to the hair.
Step 4 and 5 – includes restoring hair oil and styling hair serum to be used on damp or dry hair. The oil is formulated with Vitamin E, Sweet Almond, and chia seed oils which help to restore dry hair, strengthen the hair structure, and prevent the appearance of split ends.
The lightweight serum leaves hair feeling super smooth and soft and is the one product I think has helped to de-frizz my hair the most! it also tames flyaways and can be used to sleek your hair back on those need-to-wash days!
Pros:
- Budget-friendly, with each product costing just £2.50!
- Smells incredible – I could smell these products still on my hair days later!
- The set has everything you could need, from shampoo and conditioner to styling products with serum and oil!
Cons:
- Can these products really rival bigger brands such as Olaplex? Only time will tell, but within just a few uses I can see a difference in the texture of my hair!
Where to buy
Available from B&M and Savers stores.
Rating: 5/5
I really couldn’t fault this range, I love how budget-friendly it is, making it super affordable to give your hair that extra treatment it needs. I also love my products to smell nice, this range reminds me of holidays and I loved how long after the wash I could smell the product.
I’ve been using this range for a couple of weeks now and can see a difference in the texture of my hair, it feels less dry and looks less frizzy!
I would highly recommend this range.
