Incase you haven’t heard, 28th May is National Hamburger day!! As long time food lovers (and experienced burger eaters), we thought we would mark the occasion by throwing together this list of the most mouth-watering and meatilicious burgers that Liverpool has to offer!
1. Almost Famous, Parr Street – The Hank Marvin
Almost famous is an Edgy, American-style burger joint with sofas and a menu including hot dogs and chicken wings. Almost Famous is the kind of place you stumble across in Liverpool, usually really busy on weekends but definitely worth the wait! Their must try burger is the Hank Marvin double famous cheeseburger, with crispy smoked bacon, buttermilk fried chicken, grilled halloumi and crunchy fresh slaw.
2. Revolucion de Cuba – Cuban Jerk Fried Chicken Cheese Burger
A Cuban twist on the classic chicken burger, Revoloucion de Cubas jerk fried chicken burger with melting Manchengo and cheddar cheese is served on a toasted bun with fries and rum mayo. An especially tasty way to celebrate National Burger Day.
3. Portland Street 358, Smithdown Road – Texan Burger
Street food with a twist, served in a great looking restaurant with awesome decor and great vibe! This Texan Burger with two beef patties is a hot topic with baked beans and cheese!!
4. Love Archies, Ranelagh St – Chicken Cheetos Burger!
Celeb designed Burgers, shakes & waffles! Recently opened in Liverpool after the success of the Manchester location, mirroring the signature white and pink colour scheme and diner-inspired interior. You can’t go wrong with Archies! If you’re looking for something a bit different, try the Chicken Cheetos Burger.
5. Titanic Hotel – 8oz Titanic steak burger
With its atmospheric industrial-chic interiors and al fresco dining space on the colonnades, Titanic Hotel is a great spot for indulging in a juicy burger. The steak burger comprises of Irish cheese, gem lettuce, dill pickle, brioche bun, served with Titanic Burger sauce.
6. Free State Kitchen, Maryland Street – The Swiss
A low-key diner with garden benches, serving US-style wings, burgers and fries, cocktails and beer – the ‘Swiss’ burger is contemporary twist on American classic, with sweet jalapeno relish, smoked bacon and caramelised onion!
7. Revolution at Albert Dock – The Smoke King
Enjoy three beef patties with nacho cheese sauce, loaded with smoky creamed corn, streaky bacon, caramel BBQ sauce, chorizo ketchup and crispy fried onions. Served under a cloud of apple wood smoke in a poppy seed brioche bun with a large scoop of skinny fries.
8. Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Avo Bacon Burger
Chain restaurant with classic wooden decor, serving gourmet British beef, chicken or veggie burgers. Great staff and exceptional service. Just look at that burger.
9. Byron Burger, Paradise Street – Big Smoke
American-inspired chain diner serving posh burgers with a choice of toppings, sides & salads. Delicious, juicy hamburgers, made with properly-sourced British beef and the best ingredients possible. The big smoke comes highly recommended!
10. Button Street Smokehouse, The Dirty Burger
2 Beef patties, giant onion rings, BBQ Pulled Pork and Monterey Jack sauce! Button Street Smokehouse is a relaxed BBQ restaurant with bare brick and stripped wooden floors, for burgers, chicken and steaks. Great food,wine and ambiance; I would definitely go again!
11. Rack and Dollar, Berry Street – Burger Sliders
Authentic dishes from across the pond, including: Rack & Dollar Sailor Jerry Ribs, Lone Star Beef Chilli Grilled Cheese, Philly Cheese Steak. Pool table and amazing cocktails, bonus! Order the sliders for a sample of all the burgers!
12. Loaded Burgers Liverpool – The Takon
Loaded burgers is a little hidden gem based on Smithdown Road, not far from Liverpool City Centre. Fully loaded Gourmet Burgers & Fries! They have a range of signature burgers, but the most popular is The Takon. With a choice of beef, chicken or lamb, smokey cheese, caramelised onions, smokey chicken rashers and loaded burger sauce.
