The UK’s biggest festive 5k fun run is back for 2018. The Santa Dash is a firm fixture on Liverpool’s festive calendar and is one of our favourite fund-raising events. This year the event will take place at the Liverpool Pier Head on 2nd December at 9:30am.
What is the Liverpool Santa Dash?
Every year, thousands of red and blue Santa’s run, jog or walk the 5k route, which takes in some of Liverpool’s most famous sights, in a bid to raise money for local charities. Last year saw no less than 7,000 Santa’s run through the city’s streets, with most raising money for charity as they went. Entries are now open at BTR Liverpool and don’t forget that your Santa suit is provided! Also, if you have little ones that want to get involved, there is also a mini 1k dash event for little Santa’s aged 12 and under.
I’m taking part in the Santa Dash – who can I raise money for?
If you’re planning to take part in Liverpool’s 15th Santa Dash, why not raise money for Liverpool’s local children’s hospital; Alder Hey! For those who don’t know; Alder Hey is a leading children’s hospital in Liverpool that cares for over 275,000 children, young people and their families every year. From common illnesses to complex and rare conditions, Alder Hey is one of Europe’s biggest and busiest children’s hospitals, and changes the lives of many families across the UK every single year!
Whether you sprint, jog or walk, what better way to start the festive season than keeping fit and raising money for a good cause? To help raise much-needed funds for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital click here.
