Whether you’re toying with the idea of trying a completely vegan diet, (whether it be for health or animal welfare reasons) or you’re just trying to live a healthier lifestyle during the bikini-body graft; plant-based products can be a great way to get more of the good stuff into your system. So, here are a few ways to incorporate more plant-based products into your life, without having to completely turn your diet on its head!
Sneak it in
If you’re not a big fan of veggies, then join the club! If eating a bowl of salad every lunch time isn’t your thing, sneak some goodness in with a healthy smoothie for breakfast! Not only is it the perfect way to get some nutrients into your system early on, but if you take it into the office you’ll be able to sit there looking smug AF right up until lunch.
Fake it ‘til you make it
It’s 2018, and the market for vegan alternatives to your favourite foods is HUGE. One brand pioneering the benefits of a plant-based diet for your health, animals and the planet is Gosh! Naturally free-from food. For me, giving up meat would be easy if it wasn’t for those summer BBQs tempting towards burgers like a cartoon pie. So, to try and get more goodness inside me this summer I tried Gosh!’s range of vegan alternatives to sausages and burgers. Not only are they full of flavour, but they’re half the calories with none of that ‘greasy burgers vibes’ you often get after a drunk-BBQ-sesh! Absolute winner!
Switch your snacks up
We all know full well we should be snacking on apples and carrot sticks over crisps and chocolate, but honestly, we don’t really care. However, if you’re trying to get your 5, 6, 7… a day in whilst the weather is warm, here’s the perfect opportunity for you to finally learn to snack right. Just remember, healthy snacks don’t have to be dull; try adding some peanut butter and flaked almonds to a slice of apple or layering a rice cake with bananas and strawberries.
