To celebrate the delicious fresh ingredients of its Spring Menu, ASK Italian Liverpool created a unique “Edible Bouquet” in partnership with iconic florists Rebel Rebel. We learnt how to make the “La Dolce Vita” bouquet with carefully crafted fresh Italian herb pairings Rosemary & Pea, Olive & Mint and yellow courgette flowers inspired by the delicious new dishes available at ASK Italian restaurants.
Ask Italian Liverpool: Spring Menu Review
For menu sampling part of the night, we chose from a selection of Italian classics on the Spring Menu. Options from the set menu include the award-winning Pasta Fresca Purple Basil Pesto Genovese, fresh egg tagliatelle, green pesto and cream sauce with fine green beans and pine nuts, topped with purple basil pesto; and Fettucine Bolognese, a hearty beef and pork ragu served with flat ribbon Fettuccine.
All menu items offer the option to make it vegetarian and there are Allergen, Vegan & Non-Gluten menus available, with dishes including Prima Super Green Pizza, a pea purée base topped with tender baby kale, asparagus, peas, red pepper pearls, spinach, balsamic red onions and vegan mozzarella alternative.
We chose the ‘Cheese Fonduta’ (cheese fondue) and the ‘Burrata Caprese’ to start with, ‘Prima Pizza Super Green’ for the main and 2 desserts to share which were the ‘Warm Cookie & Salted Caramel Gelato’ and the ‘Passion Fruit & Raspberry Cheesecake’ – Food Heaven!
Outside of the masterclasses, diners can still enjoy the new Spring menu, which is available seven days a week in ASK Italian restaurants nationwide, featuring a selection of classic Italian dishes with a Spring-fresh theme.
These include the Pea & Ricotta Souffle, twice baked soufflé on a bed of spinach in a rich cheese sauce topped with mascarpone; Super Green Soup, a light vegetable broth with peas, courgettes, leeks, baby kale and potatoes, topped with pea shoots and Pea & Prosciutto Risotto, vibrant creamy pea and asparagus risotto topped with crispy smoked prosciutto and pea shoots. Followed by an array of showstopping desserts featuring Passion Fruit & Raspberry Cheesecake on a biscuit base, drizzled with tangy passion fruit sauce, served with vanilla gelato and Warm Cookie & Salted Caramel Gelato.
