The difficult part of loving skincare and makeup as much as I do is when I want to try new products all the time! When I see a new brand or a new product I can’t often say no!
Skincare products normally show their true potential after using them for at least 4-6 weeks and I think this is where a lot of people go wrong, they expect immediate results when the general rule is to wait at least 4 weeks to see the full results before switching to something else.
I tend to switch up my routines with the seasons, my winter skin needs more hydration than my summer skin and vice versa. One rule I always stick to is choosing my products wisely and not just ones that are ‘on trend’.
Whatever you decide to do and whichever products you decide to go with as long as you get yourself into a good routine and create daily skincare habits you will soon see the benefits.
I know the old saying of If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it and to a certain point, I do agree as you know your skin best. However, if you’re looking for a little skincare inspiration, I have collated some of my tried and tested favourites I have been using over the last couple of months.
Some items have been gifted for review, but all thoughts are my own.
Saviour Moisture Mask, By Sarah London, £44*
One of my favourite brands from 2021, By Sarah London offers a range of plant-powered products that deliver vital nutrients, enzymes, and lipids. All their products are also Vegan and Cruelty-Free.
This deeply moisturizing lightweight gel mask is bursting with hyaluronic acid to instantly restore a dry, dull, or tired complexion. Applied after cleansing I absolutely love the feel of this mask, hydrating and nourishing without feeling sticky on the skin. Using this mask of an evening has transformed my dehydrated skin. I have noticed a difference in my skin flare-ups too!
Camomile Cleansing Butter, The Body Shop, £11
I have been pretty set on my cleansing face oil and have been using the same one for over a year, however, I was out shopping over Christmas and had run out of mine so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try this one from The Body Shop that I had heard such good things about! And I was not disappointed! Ideal if you suffer from sensitive skin this purifying cleanser effortlessly removes makeup in one easy step. It literally melts your makeup off without the need for any scrubbing at your face. The texture is super smooth so doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry or dehydrated after. I have definitely been converted to this one and luckily for me, it’s half the price of the one I was using!
RevitaBrow Eye Conditioner, RevitaLash Cosmetics, £89*
Growing my brows has been on the agenda for at least the last 3 months, having had them tattooed 5 years ago I felt they had just stopped growing altogether so was keen to see if there was anything on the market to help make them grow. Revita Brow had the best reviews, so I decided to give it a go for myself. Promising to revitalize and condition the brows, the daily treatment promotes strand strength, resilience, and suppleness and addresses the visual signs of eyebrow aging, stress, and fragility. I have been applying morning and evening for the last 8 weeks and I have started to see a difference already. It isn’t an instant result and with the expense, it can feel a lot to spend and not see an immediate difference. However, if you persist and are consistent with the application you will soon see a difference, my brows have started to grow and the areas I felt were particularly sparse have started to fill. I will absolutely continue to use this treatment in the hope of bushy brows in the future!
Purevoc All Day Glow Serum, Wonderskin, £45*
Looking for that fresh-faced all-day glow? This serum is the one for you! Promising to nourish, firm, and protect the skin I have been using this brand for the past 6 weeks. 1-2 drops onto cleansed skin I love how lightweight this serum feels on the skin and if you don’t like to use a primer this would also work well under makeup. I have been using this post-cleanse and before moisturizer and my skin feels plump, smooth, and hydrated. It also contains Vitamin C which helps to brighten and tighten the skin and this serum does just that! Their products are also vegan, paraben-free, gluten-free, and cruelty-free.
