As we all know I love to try new products, in fact spending money on the latest beauty products is by far my favourite past time (maybe I need a hobby).
However occasionally I can end up disappointed.
You know those products that draw you in with the pretty packaging? Or the ones advertised all over Instagram, usually accompanied by a love island star? Well I fall for all of that, in fact I will buy it in every shade, size, style just in case.
However, every now and then some of them can fall flat.
Here are a few of my latest beauty buys that will probably stay at the back of my ever-flowing bathroom cabinet.
Wet and wild photo focus concealer
I had heard great things about this brand so when I saw it stocked in my nearest Boots store, I jumped on the chance to try it out. However, they didn’t have the foundation in my shade, so I settled for the concealer instead. I don’t know whether I am just used to quite a high coverage concealer, but this was too lightweight for me and even building it up it didn’t give the same sort of coverage I get from my similar priced concealer.
Vitamin E Dual Phase Cleansing Oil
I love this range usually and I am slowly working my way through all their different products. However, this was disappointing, it is very greasy and instead of taking my make up off I felt as if it smeared it all over my face instead. So much so I had to then use micellar water over the top just to clean my face. I did give this product a few more tries but unfortunately it won’t be one I will be purchasing again.
Mac Strobe Cream ‘Peachlite’
This is a product that has been around for a long time and I have heard such good things, but for me this product is not worth the £25 price tag.
I have tried this under my make up as a primer, over make up as a highlighter and I have even tried this mixed in with my foundation and none have proven to me its worth re purchasing. I have cheaper highlighters and primers that I rate much more highly than this product.
The odd disappointing purchase will never stop me from purchasing new products, however I may need to buy a bigger cabinet to store them all.
Here are 5 amazing beauty products (under £10) that I would absolutely recommend!
