One of the questions I get asked all the time regarding make up is ‘What are the best yet affordable products to use’ and I must admit it is one of my favourites to answer as I have spent my life buying makeup, from as far back as saving my £1 pocket money to buy some roller ball lip-glosses and coloured hair mascara. And do you know, not much has changed. As much as I love some higher end products, majority of my makeup kit is high street beauty (or high end dupes).
Here are just a few of my must haves, and what’s even better each product costs less than £15.
Revolution bake and finish powder £5
Ideal to not only set your make up but control excess oil and shine, these pots last forever and come in a range of over 10 shades, so whatever your skin colour or needs Revolution has your back.
My favourite for olive skin is the banana powder, dust under the eyes and around the mouth to set your makeup for the day.
Loreal Infallible Foundation £10.99
I am obsessed with this foundation.
Available in 26 shades if you’re looking for a full coverage yet glowy foundation with some serious staying power this is the one for you.
Make up Obsession Mega honey highlighter £3
If you love a blinding highlighter but don’t want to pay the big bucks this is one of the best I have tried. In a range of 6 colours depending on your skin tone this has become a staple in my makeup bag.
MUA Base primer £4
Yet again another of my favourite products and perfect to prime your skin before your foundation, they smell delicious and really do help to blur any imperfections and hydrate your skin prior to makeup application. Available in four variations.
Barry M Lipliners £4.99
For years I wore MAC lipliners and could never find ones to match up with their range of colours and their staying power. Until I tried Barry M and I am now converted. These lipliners are amazing and come in a range of colours from Nude to the perfect Red.
Revolution Conceal and Define £4
Yet to find a concealer as good as the makeup revolution ones. And what’s even better they’ve now given you the option to buy a bigger one for £7. Whether you have a more pink or yellow undertone to your skin there is a concealer to match. Use to highlight or disguise blemishes they’re lightweight yet still manage to be full coverage.
NYX Butter Gloss £5.99
Available in 34 shades, super glossy with none of the stickiness that other glosses have these really are worth the purchase. I love to wear them alone or as topcoats over a matte lipstick.
Primark HD mascara £4
Love, love, love this mascara. Jet black and coats lashes like a dream, this mascara has become a real favourite of mine and one I recommend to most people who are looking for a volumizing mascara.
Also available as a waterproof mascara too.
