How to make your hair grow faster: 6 tips for faster growth

How to make your hair grow faster

We’ve all been there, haven’t we? Desperate for a change we decide the only option is to hack all of our hair off and then instantly regret it. So in my attempt to figure out how to grow my hair back IMMEDIATELY, I bought a lot of different products hoping for a quick fix.

And let me tell you, when it comes to your hair health there is no quick fix, hair growth takes time and patience. I’ve now been growing my hair for around 18 months, and I’m super impressed with how my hair is looking so I thought it was only fair to share some tips right?

Taking care of your hair is just as important as taking care of your skin and as always finding the right products that work for you should be your starting point.

Here are just a few of my tips on how to make your hair grow faster; to help you achieve longer, thicker, and most importantly healthier looking hair.

*Some products have been kindly gifted but all thoughts are my own.

1. Increase scalp circulation

Regrowz, home to hair restoration products has now added a new product to its collection. Introducing, Regrowz scalp massage brush, a brush to help tackle all your hair problems and help increase your scalp blood circulation to support healthy hair growth. The scalp brush helps to stimulate your follicles while leading to a healthy-looking scalp. Hand-held and easy to use, it helps remove dry skin that leads to dandruff, eases any itchiness, improves blood circulation, and strengthens the roots of your hair.

Compact enough to fit in your handbag and super affordable it can also be used on dry hair to eliminate dandruff. I use mine in the shower whilst washing my hair and not only does it help my irritated scalp, but it also helps to detangle my curly hair. A gentle and safe way to scrub your scalp without leaving your head irritated or itchy and provides a massaging experience to help revive your hair, leading to stronger, healthier-looking hair.

Highly recommended.

Available via the Regrowz website and Amazon.

2. Invest in good quality shampoo

Previously I was absolutely the type of girl who thought shampoo is shampoo surely? However, having tried shampoo from more high-end brands I have seen the biggest difference in the overall look of my hair. Created by Sydney hairdresser Natasha Jay, Pump Growth shampoo has been my go too for the last couple of weeks. Created with a unique BioGro formula it contains organic oils such as Argan, Macadamia, Peppermint, and Chamomile. It also contains Coenzyme Q10 which increases the keratin levels to enable longer and thicker feeling hair.

Not only does this shampoo and conditioner feel super luxurious to use it has left my hair feeling thicker and shinier, whilst clearing any flakiness from my scalp. And not just that, the packaging is sustainable, bio-degradable and recyclable. What more could you ask for?

3. Look after your scalp

If you’re trying to grow your hair fast you need to start with your scalp. When you take care of your scalp you’re ensuring that nutrients and blood can easily flow to the hair follicle. Invest in a scalp oil, serum or a mask with ingredients such as peppermint or tea-tree.

Using a clarifying shampoo has been life-changing and not just in terms of my hair growth but also has helped my often flaky and dry scalp. I now use the clarifying shampoo as my first shampoo to balance, moisturize and protect the hair and scalp.

My favourite is the Organic Hair Cleanser from Tabitha James Kraan.

4. Pop your vitamins

Although hair supplements are not a miracle cure I for one am convinced being consistent with my hair vitamins has played a huge role in the condition and growth of my hair. I have been taking two of the Hair Burst Chewable vitamins daily for the past 3 months and I am so impressed with the results that I have been recommending to anyone who will listen. Containing Biotin, Selenium, Zinc and Vitamins A, B5, B6, B12, C and E they are the super easy and convenient way to ensure you are taking the essential vitamins to maintain hair growth. I am convinced being persistent with these vitamins have played a part in the growth of my hair.

5. Brush your hair

Sounds obvious right? But how many times a week do you brush your hair? (I’m looking at you WFH people!) and whilst brushing or combing is essential, being gentle with your hair is key. Ensure when your hair is wet that you are detangling from the bottom and work your way up slowly. This may feel weird at first however brushing your hair downwards when wet will only cause more tangles to be created!

Having swapped to a Bamboo hairbrush I have noticed the difference in how shiny and healthy my hair looks. Having curly hair I do have to be careful when brushing but the Bamboo hairbrush from Regrowz features bristles made up with bamboo rounded tips to gently stimulate the hair whilst you brush. It’s also super lightweight and ideal to pop in your handbag. Regrowz is a UK based company specializing in hair loss products and hair restorations and is available via their website and Amazon.

If you struggle with lots of tangled hair I highly recommend investing in a detangling spray such as the Unwind Detangling Primer from Centred – life-changing!!

6. Trim your hair and stay away from bleach!

As much as it’s probably the one thing you are avoiding in the hunt for super long healthy-looking hair, maintaining frequent trims are nonnegotiable. Continuing to have frayed, split ends will do your hair no favours. It will also make your hair look much thinner.

Maintaining a trim every 12 weeks will enable your hair to grow thicker and longer.

Avoiding hair dyes and bleach really is one of the best things you can do to help with your hair growth. So up to you, do you want that platinum blonde hair or super long, healthy-looking hair?

7. Invest in a good hair mask

Getting into the habit of treating your hair as much as you treat your skin will really help with your hair care journey. Adding a mask to your self-care routine once a week will not only help with growing your hair long and strong but will also help the look and feel of your hair too.
