Accommodation: Classic Hot Tub Lodge

After a scenic four-hour drive, we arrived at Loch Lomond Holiday Park around 4 pm. Key collection was a breeze at the reception desk, and within minutes we were navigating the well-maintained roads to our lodge. The lodge boasted a private parking space, adding to the convenience and privacy of our stay.

The classic hot tub lodge surpassed our expectations in terms of size and comfort. The master bedroom, complete with an ensuite bathroom, provided a luxurious retreat. Two additional bedrooms, each accommodating two guests, ensured ample space for larger groups or families. A well-appointed main bathroom, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a spacious living area with a cosy lounge area completed the interior.

Stepping outside, we were greeted by an expansive decking area, furnished with comfortable seating and a generously sized hot tub. The highlight of the lodge was undoubtedly the mesmerising view of Loch Lomond and its surrounding mountains. This breath-taking panorama could be enjoyed from the comfort of the hot tub or the decking, creating an idyllic setting for relaxation and rejuvenation.

The lodge’s panoramic view was simply stunning. A particular highlight was my first evening, spent curled up by the patio doors with a captivating book, as the setting sun transformed the sky into a vibrant masterpiece.

Local area:

The local area surrounding Loch Lomond Holiday Park offers a wealth of attractions and activities. On our first evening, despite the fully-equipped kitchen in our lodge, we opted to treat ourselves to dinner after a long day of travel. We stumbled upon The Slanj, a charming restaurant where we enjoyed delicious prawn bruschetta followed by classic fish and chips.

The next morning, eager to explore the great outdoors, we ventured to Argyll Forest Park. The park boasts numerous trails, but we chose to simply follow the main path, leading us to a secluded spot with tranquil plunge pools near a waterfall.

After the invigorating uphill hike and a refreshing dip in the pools, hunger struck. With the nearest shop a considerable distance away, we discovered a highly-rated pitstop cafe, where we enjoyed takeaway pizza and Irn-Bru on a bench overlooking the picturesque Lake Long.

As the forecast predicted heavy rain for the evening, we returned to the lodge to unwind in the hot tub before the weather took a turn.

Rating: 5/5

Loch Lomond Holiday Park offers a peaceful and picturesque getaway. The classic hot tub lodge exceeded our expectations, providing comfort, ample space, and stunning views. While the on-site facilities and local attractions offer plenty to keep guests entertained, the lodge itself is a destination in its own right.
