We headed to Neighbourhood Liverpool to see if Thursday are really the new Fridays…
There are two types of girls night; the first type is the one you usually end up on accidentally – the promise of a good catch up goes it the window almost immediately when the single ones of the group decide they’re on the pull and you’re their unwilling wing woman. It’s invariably shit and always ends with at least one person crouching on the floor with one eye open, texting song lyrics to their ex.
The second type of girls night is the low key one; the one that starts as a “quick drink and a catch up” (which we all know is code for “let’s get pissed and spill all our secrets”. The one that’s just all about laughing, dancing and enjoying each other’s company – no men involved. The type of night that, despite your hangover the next day, leaves you feeling like a new woman. After all, what else do you really need when you’ve got your girls?
Well, nothing – but you’re not going to say no to unlimited drinks are you? Which is Neighbourhood Liverpool, one of the most instagrammable bars in the city, is the new place to take your squad for some cocktails and cock tales on a Thursday night.
#NotGoingHome
Every Thursday night Neighbourhood Liverpool hosts #NotGoingHome – a new night designed especially for you and your girl gang to enjoy some food and unlimited drinks for an hour and a half for just £30pp.
Now, in my experience, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. So, we headed down to Castle Street last Thursday, to see if their newest night is really all it’s been hyped up to be.
Let’s talk about the drinks @ Neighbourhood
Unlike some of the other places in Liverpool, who’s promise of bottomless bevs actually means that you have to practically fight your waiter to the death to get more than two glasses of Prosecco, the drinks at Neighbourhood of a Thursday really are unlimited. My glass wasn’t empty once – which probably explains the 47 pics on my camera roll the next day of what appeared to be an extensive solo photo shoot in the (very aesthetic) Neighbourhood toilets. As a side note; if anyone who works there is reading this, please delete the cctv footage of me with my leg up against a cubicle, thanks!
Let’s talk about the food @ Neighbourhood Liverpool
Food-wise, you each get two plates + fries. The food is decent – I mean, I’m not going to lie to you, I wasn’t blown off my feet, but it’s the perfect amount to soak up the alcohol without bloating you! Bonus points if everyone in your picks something different so you can share – oh, and if you’re the type who likes to take photos of their food, go for the sushi or the mini burgers!
Let’s talk about the vibes @ Neighbourhood Liverpool
Last but not least, let’s talk about the vibe. I know I’ve already mentioned Neighbourhood Liverpool is one of the most instagrammable bars in Liverpool, but I really do mean it! From the pink and flirty toilets and lightening blue, “First Never Follow” corner, there’s no shortage of gorgeous booths and neon nooks and crannies to pose away in until your heart’s content. But it’s not just about the look of it, expect a bit of a buzz and the kind of playlist that will have you up and dancing, even though you have absolutely no business dusting off your dancing boots on a school night!
