How often do we stop and listen to the needs of our body? How much water (hot drinks/juice doesn’t count) do you drink a day? Just two of the questions that were asked at the pop-up wellness event I attended last night. Situated on the beautiful Royal Albert Dock hosted by ‘One Health Whole you’ this event was like no other.
We started off the session with a 30-minute mindset talk where the focus was finding our balance. Hailey touched on many things including finding time for yourself, whether that be something you enjoy such as exercise or simply taking the time out to address how your body is feeling. Something I’m sure most people would agree currently is a difficult thing to do.
She talked of techniques to help with lack of sleep and anxiety, both of which I have suffered with in the past, so I found this section particularly interesting. With talk of empowerment and how to gain control of your own health and wellbeing I believe this talk is one that would suit everyone.
We then followed the talk with 45 minutes of yoga, which for me was something brand new to try and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole sequence and can feel I have worked some muscles I don’t touch whilst in the gym!
We concluded the session with a beautiful 15-minute meditation which left me feeling like all the stresses of the day had left my body, I felt calm, relaxed and more centered.
If you’re looking to try a session for yourself, I cannot recommend it enough. In addition to weekly classes and workshop, Hailey offers bespoke meditation and mindfulness sessions that can be incorporated in the workplace.
Hailey comments, “The ethos behind my One Health Whole You wellness studio is to share tools and techniques which will support and empower the people of Liverpool to take control of their health and wellbeing”
