As we age our body’s natural production of collagen slows down, which in turn means a loss of firmness to the skin and is directly linked to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Which let’s be honest I am not about.
Luckily the team over at proto-col collagen have our back and I was super excited to be sent their 10-day collagen shot bottles.
Deliciously fruity this collagen drink acts as a daily food supplement that supports the body’s own collagen formation.
So, what do proto-col collagen shots promise?
Proto-col Collagen Shot uses verisol, a unique formulation of type I and III bovine collagen hydrolysate. Bovine collagen is a close match to human DNA and this formulation has been clinically tested to support the maintenance of healthy skin, hair and nails by stimulating the body’s own production of collagen.
As well as all of that they promise to reduce cellulite and help with the growth of nails and hair
And what did I think?
Before trying the shots, I was really quite sceptical to say the least, I wasn’t too sure how a shot of collagen would make much difference to my skincare regime.
But I have been pleasantly surprised. Since using the proto-col collagen, my skin has been super clear, it has felt plump, hydrated and in general a lot fresher.
I would say it was too soon to comment on fine lines and wrinkles, but this is definitely something I will be purchasing again and I will be intrigued to see if my skin continues to benefit.
Not the cheapest at £35 for 10 bottles but if you’re wanting to stay away from Botox and fillers this may be a good alternative to keep your skin looking clear and fresh.
They taste gorgeous too!
