Trying an at-home microdermabrasion
Why did I want to try an at home microdermabrasion? We all know how much I swear by a good skincare regime, if you have been reading my blogs for a while now you should well and truly know the drill. But for those of you at the back I repeat:
- Drink your water
- Throw away those wipes
- Cleanse and tone
- Exfoliate and hydrate
But you know me, I always like to switch it up and one other thing I love to add in is a six-weekly facial.
However, its January, I can’t remember the last time I was paid, and my skin is looking a little tired to say the least.
So, I thought perfect timing to try one of Proto-col’s latest product I was lucky enough to be gifted with. This anti-ageing micro dermabrasion combines crushed diamond and mother of pearl powder with natural AHAS to gently lift away dead skin cells.
With added plant-based Protocol Collagen and protein this promises to leave your skin feeling smooth and renewed as well as fighting against fine lines and wrinkles.
So how do you use it?
Before staring your microdermabrasion, make sure you have thoroughly cleansed and toned your face, you want to give this product the best chance to revitalize skin cells.
Then, apply a thin layer all over the face applying with your fingers in gentle circular motions. Leave on for five minutes then grab a damp warm cloth to gently remove the product from your face ensuring you’re not rubbing too hard.
Your skin may feel a little red at first, but this soon goes down. After just one use I was pleasantly surprised at how soft my skin feels. What I loved about this product compared to other exfoliators was how small the beads where, sometimes with exfoliators I feel like I am scratching my skin and it can feel almost gritty. This was a much nicer, kinder experience to my skin.
To be used 2-3 times a week, suitable for all skin types for less than £15 I think this is the perfect product to add to your skincare regime, especially if you’re suffering from dry patches or blemishes. After the microdermabrasion, my skin felt super soft, clean and my makeup applied much better the next day.
