We were invited along to review one of Liverpool’s stunning luxury hotels, The Resident on Seel Street. Located in the heart of the city’s fashionable Ropewalks district, housed within a stunning former warehouse dating back to the 1800’s. Within a short walk of the city’s main railway stations and all its top attractions, including the Albert Dock, Tate Liverpool, The Beatles Story, and the world-famous Cavern Club, it’s the ideal location for any city break or overnight stay.
I’m based in Liverpool myself, but very rarely go into the city centre as I live on the outskirts and taxi’s can be quite expensive, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to stay over and have a ‘touristy day’ in my own city. The location of The Resident is the perfect base for great places to eat, bars and shopping.
Arriving at the hotel we were greeted by the loveliest receptionist who advised us on the best places to eat in the area, where to save on parking and recommended a few bars for cocktails in the evening.
The room we were gifted was on the second floor, with an on-suite bathroom and kitchen area for making food (which came in really handy as we arrived too early for Dinner). We were really impressed with the attention to detail in the room, from the stunning decor to the bathroom beauty products.
If you’re looking for a hotel for a city break or overnight stay, we’d highly recommend The Resident – especially during the current situation with social distancing. Each of their city centre hotels are ideally suited with relatively few rooms in each hotel, you can be hosted safely with social distancing and trusted hygiene measures in place.
When not venturing out to eat, each of The Resident’s guestrooms have mini kitchens and the team can ensure a pre-ordered selection of essential groceries will be sanitised and placed in the larder fridge prior to arrival. Guests are also welcome to order takeaways to be delivered to the hotel, which will be delivered to the door of the guestroom by a socially distanced member of the team.
The Resident also proud to share information about a non-profit initiative that they are involved with, kindly offering 2020 rooms to ICU nurses, who worked on the frontline of the pandemic, as a thank you for their tremendous efforts, as part of the ‘Nights on Us’ campaign.
