It’s really important during this time of isolation that we practice self care more than ever! Just because we are at home and we aren’t seeing people it doesn’t mean that we can neglect our beauty and skin regime. CC Clarke, the UK’s leading beauty influencer (as named by The Sunday Times) and up and coming singer, offers her advice for self care at home…
We still need to look after it to make sure we keep it in great condition. There are basic things you can do during this time at home including making sure you stay really hydrated, wearing SPF if you are going outside for your exercise break and regularly exfoliating otherwise you are just putting products on dead skin.

At the moment I am doing a facial after my workout and bath. I’ve been starting with cleansing my skin using Elemis pro collagen cleansing balm. If you don’t have this but you have something like coconut oil at home this can be used to melt your make up away and take it off.
Another trick I have been using is to steam my face for five minutes a day after cleansing. I don’t have steamer at home so what I’ve been doing is filling a big bowl of hot water and then using a towel to cover my head. Now the pores are open it’s a great time to do an at home face mask – there are lots available online and one that I really like is the glam glow face mask which is brilliant.
After the face mask has stayed on for the period of time suggested rinse off and wash your face with cold water to close the pores. I then use my pix glow tonic to exfoliate. If you don’t have this at home that’s no problem you can mix sugar and honey together as a DIY substitute.
A lot of people may be deciding not to wear make-up during this time which means it’s the perfect time to really take care of your skin and pack on the products full of nutrients. I have been using Skinesis by Sara Chapman Glow Oil – it’s like a home spa treatment, it smells amazing and it’s beautiful on the skin. Skin oil is great but you should apply moisturiser afterwards – this will mean double the hydration.
My final step is Bobbi Brown vitamin enriched face base – this will be good for your skin with or without make-up. Ultimately it’s all down to preference but now is a great time to do the prep work for summer skin.
