One thing I am loving since lockdown is the difference in my skin. Whether that’s having more time on my hands to up my skincare regime, drinking more water or not having the office environment with the heating and air con on constantly.
Or maybe its because I have been trying some fabulous new products.
I don’t know but I am LOVING IT
Here are just a few of the products I have tried over the last 6 weeks and my thoughts good and bad about each one.
Take the day off cleansing balm, Clinique £25
I have never used a cleansing balm ever. So, after seeing reviews for this product everywhere (and rave reviews I might add) I just knew I had to try it.
Safe to use on both the face and your eyes and ideal for sensitive skin, this makeup remover transforms from a balm to an oil for gentle yet effective makeup removal.
And believe me I have put this to the test with some serious makeup and it is yet to disappoint. It dissolves even heavy makeup and removes the dirt and oil leaving your face feeling super soft afterwards.
I scoop out the size of a 50p piece rub between my hands and then directly onto my face and massage in. Apply some warm water to help dissolve and then rinse.
Its expensive, but hugely effective and the tub I bought a month ago I still have quite a bit left so in my opinion it is worth the money.
Have I seen a huge difference in my skin? Not particularly, but I have never been able to get my makeup off so easily and so effectively using just one product. So, I will be re purchasing this product for sure.
Available from Look Fantastic.
Naturally good sensitive day cream, Nivea £5.99*
I love Nivea moisturizers, always have and probably always will as they seem to get better and better.
With 99% of natural ingredients it offers 100% transparency as to what you are putting onto your skin.
I tried the Organic Chamomile cream which is ideal for sensitive skin.
It promises to relieve skin tightness and soothe any irritations on the skin. Perfume free and dermatologically tested I knew this would be the perfect fit for my sensitive skin, which it has been. Light enough to wear under my makeup yet nourishing enough to feel the difference in my skin this cream is ideal as a light day time moisturizer. Its not greasy and soaks into the skin easily.
Ideal if you are looking for a budget friendly moisturizer for sensitive skin.
Available from most Boots and Superdrug Stores and online.
Cleansing Powder, Tropic £18*
Firstly, if you are not into the whole double cleansing routine yet I insist you make it a priority, you really will start to see a difference in your skin.
I have used Tropic products in the past and love them, they can be pricey but are totally worth the investment. But the Clear Skies cleansing powder was a new one for me to try. And I was not sure how a powder formula would work exactly.
Dermatologically tested this powder is water activated. Ideal for oily and blemish prone skin this product can be used alone or as I have been using as part of my second cleanse.
Clinically proven to reduce blocked pores and improve skin clarity, this isn’t a product to be used to remove your make up, for the full effect you need to have removed any make up first.
Making sure to avoid the eye area, mix half a teaspoon with some water and massage onto your face, paying particular attention to any oily t zone or blemish prone areas. Rinse off and complete your routine with your toner.
I have enjoyed using this product as part of my new regime and although pricey I know the bottle will last me a while, as you only use a small amount each evening.
Particularly good if you’re looking for a product to reduce any extra sebum or oil on your face.
Available via the Tropic website.
