There’s plenty of bad things about summer; boob sweat, chubby rub, other peoples feet – but I’m enough of a basic bitch to admit that summer is still my favourite season.
The world just looks BETTER in summer, don’t you think? The drinks are extra, the beer gardens are more instagrammable and is there anything better than just being able to throw on a sundress and not have to put ANY further thought into your outfit?
Timeless sundresses are an easy summer staple and an outfit that requires absolutely no real thought, which is why I love them so much. So, if you’re looking for effortlessly chic summer outfit inspiration; here are some of the prettiest sundresses for this season:
Floral sundresses
I’ll admit, florals for summer might not be groundbreaking but, as they say, if it ain’t broke…
For a cute but casual vibe, go for a ditsy Bloom to Grow Floral Mini in green from Nasty Gal or a sweet floral a-line number (£15 from Nasty Gal.)
Or, if you want to add a bit of edge to your look while still donning flowers, team a ruched daisy dress (£27 from Miss Selfridge) with some Dr. Martins and leather-look jacket, or go all out in floral-print button front midi dress in ditsy floral (£35 from Asos) that is guaranteed to turn heads.
Tea dresses
Tea dresses are the ultimate in flattering summer style; like that pair of jeans from The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants; they just suit everyone.
Make a statement with some bright colours, like this gorgeous yellow polka dot sundress or floral frill hem wrap dress both from boohoo.com.
Or, go for that English Rose chic with a cute red sundress or a linen tie up tea dress.
Summer shift dresses
Oh, the summer shift dress; you are truly the hero of summer! They’re baggy enough to hide a multitude of BBQ-related sins, as well as keeping you feeling fresh and floating from day to night.
Choose from a cute bardot-esque Lemon Print Mini Dress, or channel some office-chic with a Tie Waist Curve Hem Shift Dress.
A lace insert and dobby mini sundress is perfect paired with sandals on those warm summer evenings, whilst a cami mini dress in black is the one if you’re headed to a daytime BBQ.
Denim Dresses
Last, but definitely not least, we’re seriously crushin’ on dreamy denim dresses to take your jean collection from basic to bangin’.
Get casual with a cute dungaree style dress, or ramp up your denim game with a Parisian Petite denim button down mini dress tied with a belt and styled with some cute heels.
Channel some Daisy Duke with a sleeveless button front or add a splash of colour to your wardrobe with the Waist Not Belted Denim Dress.
