When you think of cocktails, you think of The Alchemist Liverpool, and if you don’t then where have you been? You can’t scroll through Instagram without seeing at least one video of someone engulfed in the smoke from the dry ice in their glass – and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
But, is there more to The Alchemist Liverpool than just ‘gram worthy drinks? We headed to the city centrw venue, (two kids in tow) to see if it was worth a visit during the day.
Ok, so first off; The Alchemist have a brunch menu – I know it’s easy to miss when you’ve got the bible-sized cocktail menu in your eye line, but it’s there. And it’s good.
If you’re a basic bitch like me, you can go for your standard avocado-bread-egg combo, but there’s also plenty of other lunch-y type options to choose from; like their famous basket of chicken, or mac ‘n’ cheese sandwich which is ideal if you’re out for a hair of the dog!
I’m going to level with you; the brunch is fine. It’s good, it’s lovely – I wouldn’t say it was anything to write home about but it’s definitely tasty and worth the money. But here’s the seller – if you’re in there for brunch it would be RUDE if you didn’t order a cocktail too. Sorry, I don’t make the rules.
There’s plenty of low alcohol cocktails and mocktails if you’re driving, and the show that comes with some of them is well worth the visit – just ask for The Lightbulb, you can thank me later!
So, is The Alchemist more than just cocktails, and is it worth a visit during the day? Yes… but mainly for the cocktails! But as they say, if it’s not broke – don’t fix it! The Alchemist, we love you!
