1. Summer garden back to basics

Start by giving your garden a general declutter and tidy up, removing any fallen leaves, outdoor toys, dead branches and litter that may have made its way into your garden over winter.

Your greenery could do with a little TLC during this time of year. This is likely to involve re-potting, pulling out weeds from the flower beds, trimming hedges, and of course, mowing the lawns.

2. Prepare the patio

Jet or pressure washing the patio is a good way to give it an instant facelift, especially after a cold and grey winter. Mix any quality Patio Power Fluid (get some cheap from B&M or B&Q) with water and apply the solution to the affected surfaces. Allow 30 minutes for the liquid to work and then rinse off with water. This product is ideal for removing remove algae, mildew, mould, discolouration and dirt stains.

3. Revamp your barbecue

A garden party is simply not complete without the barbeque. Layers of grease and old burnt food can be a fire hazard and effect the meat’s quality, so make sure it’s cleaned thoroughly. To clean the grill, fire it up to its highest temperature setting and close the hood. Wait a few minutes, then open the lid and scrape the grates with a non-bristle metal grill brush.  Make sure you’re extra careful when cleaning so you don’t burn yourself. For troublesome spots, opt for the
