Urban Calm & Everyman Cinema Liverpool

Last Thursday I was invited to the Metquarter Mother’s Day event and it was a little bit dreamy for me. Treatments at Urban Calm followed by prosecco, nibbles and then a showing of Legally Blonde in the new Everyman Cinema Liverpool, I genuinely couldn’t get their quick enough.

My plus one was my best friend and new mum to a 4-month-old baby, so to me she deserved the treat much more than I did. We arrived at Urban Calm on the first floor of the Metquarter to be greeted by the super friendly girls that work there. The salon itself is lovely, kitted out with nail desks, pedicure chairs, beauty beds and a whole wall of Dermalogica products to have a nose at it, it had everything you would expect a luxury salon to have.

I chose the express gel manicure whereas my friend opted for the back, neck and shoulder massage. My nails were soaked, cuticles trimmed and buffed into shape before I could choose which colour I wanted to go for. Two coats later my nails were gleaming. It’s not often I have them painted by anyone else, so this was a real treat.

Kathryn was equally impressed with her massage and came out feeling completely relaxed and refreshed.

Movie Night at Everyman Cinema Liverpool

We then moved onto the brand-new everyman cinema Liverpool for some pre film nibbles and a complimentary glass of prosecco.

Now I am a lover of the cinema, I love everything about going to see a film and I still see it as an absolute treat. However, the corporate cinemas have ruined that experience for me, I think they can be quite bleak and I’m not a lover of paying £4 for a bag of minstrels.

This new cinema is a revelation. It is luxurious and offers a bar menu where you can order drinks, hot food and snacks. But here is the best bit this is available not only at the bar, but you can receive waiter service right to your seats. Pizza, sharing plates, savoury and sweet snacks as well as a choice of ice cream you’ll never want to visit one of the corporate cinemas again.

With soft furnishings, huge comfy chairs and sofas with tables you have all the comfort of sitting at home just with the big screen in front of you.

I absolutely loved the experience and will be back to both Urban Calm for one of their fantastic treatments followed by food and a film at the new Everyman cinema.

Try it one weekend, trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
